Our Carbon Reduction Plan

Our organization has developed and published a Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) in line with the UK Government’s Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21, focusing on reducing carbon emissions and contributing to environmental sustainability. Below is a detailed description of the key elements in our Carbon Reduction Plan and how it meets the required reporting standards.

01

Commitment to Net Zero

We are committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, aligning with the UK Government's national goals. The CRP outlines our strategy to reduce emissions across all scopes (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3) in a phased approach, with measurable milestones along the way.

02

Current Emissions Baseline

Our Carbon Reduction Plan includes a full inventory of our current greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, calculated using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol to ensure accuracy and transparency. The baseline year is 2022, and our reporting includes:

  • Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Emissions from company-owned vehicles, on-site fuel consumption, and other direct sources.

  • Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions): Emissions from purchased electricity, heat, and cooling.

  • Scope 3 (Value Chain Emissions): Emissions from business travel, employee commuting, waste disposal, and supply chain activities.

Sample Emissions Data for Baseline Year 2022:

  • Scope 1: 500 metric tons of COâ‚‚e

  • Scope 2: 700 metric tons of COâ‚‚e

  • Scope 3: 1500 metric tons of COâ‚‚e

03

Carbon Reduction Targets

We have set the following emission reduction targets based on science-based targets to align with the global efforts under the Paris Agreement:

  • 2025: 30% reduction in overall emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3)

  • 2030: 50% reduction

  • 2040: 75% reduction

  • 2050: Net Zero across all operations and supply chains

04

Key Environmental Management Measures

To achieve these targets, we have implemented the following key environmental management measures:

  • Energy Efficiency: Implementation of energy-efficient technologies, including LED lighting, smart energy management systems, and optimizing heating and cooling systems in offices and facilities.

  • Renewable Energy: Transition to 100% renewable energy for electricity consumption by 2025 through direct purchasing and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

  • Fleet Transition to Electric Vehicles (EVs): By 2030, all company vehicles will be electric or hybrid, with charging infrastructure already being installed at all key locations.

  • Sustainable Procurement: All suppliers are required to adhere to our Sustainable Procurement Policy, which includes minimum environmental standards. We actively collaborate with suppliers to reduce carbon emissions across the supply chain.

  • Waste Reduction and Circular Economy: Implementing a zero-landfill policy and a robust waste management program that focuses on reducing, reusing, and recycling materials.

05 Monitoring and Reporting

We have set up processes to monitor progress and assess the effectiveness of our carbon reduction strategies:

  • Annual Emissions Reporting: We will publish an annual report detailing progress against our emissions reduction targets, including updates to the baseline as required.

  • Carbon Audits: Independent third-party audits will be conducted annually to verify our emissions reporting and ensure compliance with our Carbon Reduction Plan.

  • Internal Sustainability Reviews: Regular internal reviews of energy use, emissions, and environmental impact will be conducted to identify further opportunities for improvement.

06 Engagement and Awareness

  • Employee Engagement: We have rolled out a company-wide sustainability education program to engage employees in carbon reduction initiatives, promoting behavioral changes to reduce energy use, travel, and waste.

  • Stakeholder Involvement: We actively engage with our stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and local communities, to collaboratively reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability practices.

07 Governance

Our Carbon Reduction Plan is governed by a Sustainability Committee that reports directly to the board of directors. This committee is responsible for overseeing the implementation of our CRP, setting new targets, and ensuring continuous improvement in our environmental performance.

Regular Evaluation

  • Testing and Evaluation: We regularly test, assess, and evaluate the effectiveness of our carbon reduction measures. This includes scenario planning to address potential risks related to climate change and regulatory changes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Based on monitoring and evaluation results, we will adjust our strategy, improve measures, and introduce new innovations as part of our ongoing commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050.

By publishing this Carbon Reduction Plan, we ensure compliance with the UK Government's reporting standards, commit to significant emissions reductions, and contribute to environmental sustainability.
